Compass navigates road to success

Without y’all, I don’t know if I’d even be alive today....

"When I came into this program I was a jerk. I was impossible! This letter is a thank you. Without y’’all I don’t know if I’d even be alive today.I just want to say thank you because you saved my life and helped me gain some power and control back in my life.
Y’all taught me that just because I’m a victim of abuse, abandonment and hurt, doesn’t mean I have to act like one for the rest of my life.So this is to all the staff!
Y’all have honest to God saved my life! I can finally let go of things…and I wouldn’t have been able to get where I am if y’all didn’t teach me!This is me being highly grateful! One more thing….thanks for bringing back the girl I once was. "

I thought everyone was against me....

"When I got to Compass I thought I was normal, I believed my head was on straight, I thought everyone was against me. Now that I have a clear mind, I can see I was nothing but disobedient and a living corpse. I was cold, emotionless, miserable and in fact against everyone. I looked ill. I was little, dark circles around my eyes, I looked like I was a druggie. I was lost in my beliefs and thoughts…I was head strong in all the wrong ways. I was looking for every reason to not have to continue my education, to push my friends and family further away, just so they wouldn’t know the truth.
4 months later, I have a strong head on my shoulders, I am determined, respectful, reliable and caring. I’m happy with myself. I love myself and I appreciate every challenge life throws at me. I have a good relationship with my family and I’m starting dental school and have a job lined up for me. I actually CARE about my future. Physically I’m healthy and in shape, mentally I’ve never been more stable, emotionally I’ve never been so happy.
I have big dreams…dreams to be a mom, a good one. To become a successful orthodontist that cherishes every client I receive. To be a wonderful friend, best friend, sister, daughter and niece. Dreams to know when I am wrong and to know when to do right. To stay true to myself. To work towards being my best self. My biggest dream is to be happy in life with any circumstance life throws at me."
